During this difficult time, it’s our responsibility to react and behave as a Child of God

Philippians 4:6-7 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Love is the Key and Now is the time to let it flow

During this difficult time

it’s our responsibility to behave as a Child of God

Hello all. How are you all doing during home confinement, or as essential workers? I am working remotely and while I love my 2 second commute to my work space, it has it’s quirks. I know I am very lucky and don’t take it for granted. For those are wondering, did I thank the Lord for taking care of me? Yes :). I thank him all the time.

My Grocery store trip challenged my reaction to negativity. Could I practice what the Lord teaches us?

I ventured out to the grocery store on Friday and the experience was surreal. Waiting in line to enter and exit the store, the limited supplies, trying to retain social distancing, and the heightened emotions from others put my spiritual education to the test. During this trip, the woman who bagged my groceries split my bags into two carts, which was unnecessary. She offered to bring out the second cart, which I turned her down. I said I could merge the bags into one cart myself, but she insisted. “Okay, thanks I appreciate it.” I said.

Well, her negative attitude and snappish comments to me once we were out in the parking lot, clearly said she really didn’t want to. The store was busy, the lines were long, and the carts were full up. Did I deserve her negativity? No. No I did not.

Sigh… I let it go, but yes I will admit that I whined to my coworkers about it. Once my bruised feelings were soothed, I put myself in her shoes. For everyone who is an essential worker, they are stressed. Although they should’t take their stress out on others, we should forgive. They have it rough and we should be the bigger Christian.

I have family members and friends who are essential workers so I worry for them just like you do yours. Extending love and kindness, as well as patience needs to extend beyond them.

Set an example for others around you and be the best Christian you can be. We will get through this together, however how we cope, matters.

Do you have a similar situation? Please share in the comments below. Have a blessed day my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Prayer: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
