The poppy in Christianity, serves as a symbol that embodies both the concept of death and resurrection. This delicate flower symbolizes with the blood of Jesus and his divine purpose on Earth.
The association between the poppy and the blood of Jesus goes back to the crimson stain of sacrifice and redemption. Just as the crimson petals of the poppy unfurl, so too did the lifeblood of Jesus flow, as he willingly gave himself for the salvation of humanity. This act of ultimate selflessness forms the foundation of Christian faith, resonating deeply within the hearts of believers. He is the ultimate Spiritual Warrior!
The poppy also serves as a testament to the cyclical nature of life itself. Much like a seed that falls to the ground, only to sprout anew with the warmth of the sun, the poppy symbolizes the cycle of death and rebirth. It reminds us that, even in the face of mortality, there is the promise of eternal life and restoration.
In essence, the poppy encapsulates the themes of regeneration, renewal, and transcendence. It serves as a tangible reminder of the transformative power of faith, guiding Christians towards a hopeful perspective on life’s inevitable transitions. May the poppy stand as a timeless emblem, reminding us of the unfathomable sacrifice of Jesus and the eternal life that awaits those who believe in Him.

Formality over, now lets talk informally. Get a little closer as I will now be a bit more personal.
Why did I chose an image of poppies?
Renewal and regeneration! By aligning one’s thoughts and actions with God, the process of regeneration or rebirth unfolds, while negative and undesirable aspects of ourselves are transformed.
Rebirth /regeneration example 1: Letter to the Ephesians
“God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved”
Ephesians 2:5
If you want to understand the message better, try listening to an audio book of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians in contemporary English below.
Depression and suicide example: 2 Corinthians
I need to be real with you on a sensitive subject. SUICIDE. Also, while I am being honest, this will not be sugarcoated. It will be brutal and honest.
Suicide is basically murder. Even though it’s yourself you’re killing, it still goes against the whole “Thou shalt not murder” commandment. God is all about giving life, and as his children, we should never think about taking it away.
On a personal note, many, many, many, many years ago, this is something I was saved from by my mother and God. HE knows how grateful I am for a mother’s love. A thought, not my own, popped into my head to call my mother and talk to her. This was a courageous step I took to open up on a deeply personal issue to get help. I am forever grateful that I did.
In 2nd Corinthians, Paul struggled with this subject. Yes, an apostle of Christ felt the weight of troubles in his important role, that he thought of this. Did he do it? No. He relied on God to help carry him through and felt delivered. (This can be considered regeneration.)
Listen to 2nd Corinthians video below and gain a better understanding of the highs and lows. This 2nd epistle is moving and powerful. Go ahead and give it a listen.
Have a good day my brothers and sisters, and make sure to walk in the footsteps of Christ. Live and breathe the words of God. Listen to audio bibles, or read it if you prefer. Remember, it’s better to read a whole chapter rather than one sentence within a chapter to gain an understanding of the message or concept.
I love you all, and have a blessed day.
