Gods Love for Us
Every life is filled with our own personal challenges and struggles. In Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” We are never alone, he is always with us. He teaches us how to love through the Bible and his presence in our lives. By the way, if you haven’t noticed yet, I’ve uploaded the audio bible video’s from You Tube and created a page for them.
There may be some days when we need to feel loved. Not just any love, but the kind the Lord can provide. Remember, it’s not about us when we pray to him. It’s about glorifying him, thanking him, and sharing everything in our hearts.
Love is a two-way stream. It must flow both ways and be shown. Talk is cheap they say. For example, when you learned to ride a bike, your parent was holding on while you got your footing. Once you had the hang of it, he/she released their hold of the bike so you can ride on your own. This is similar to God’s love for us in his silence. It helps to understand why we have challenges on earth. If God does everything for us, how can we learn and grow spiritually? Like riding a bike, your parent is there watching, waiting to comfort you and save you when you need it.
It is said in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This is how the Lord helps us as our father.
Love helps us be strong, patient, merciful, slow to anger, have faith, and show love for our neighbor. It prevents us from becoming quick to anger, from steeling, murder, envy, seeking vengeance, and greedy, prideful, to lie, and gossip. The Lord teaches us these things so we may walk in love as Christ.
Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus says, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there may be who go by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
When it feels like the Lord is absent, silent even, he’s not. He is waiting for us to listen to the small voice inside of us. He wants us to yearn to know the ‘real’ him. One blogger explains it perfectly. She writes:
“Not only is God’s silence biblical, it is also personal. How is that? God’s silence is personal because it can be the agent of our transformation.”
This is a portion of his love for us. An unconditional love which allows us to be with him when we go ‘home’. We’ll know him and our earthly struggles will all make sense. We will have full understanding of what it built up to when we discover who we’ve become.
Don’t be discouraged when he seems silent and distant. See it as his way of letting us show him how much we trust him for all he’s taught us through his love. See it as an opportunity to fly on your own, to show him the confidence you have which he has given you. Love is a powerful thing, and only the Lord can show us just how much.
Still not convinced? Think upon this. How gratified do you feel when something is easily given to you compared to how you had to work for it? How gratifying is a cool glass of water when you’re very thirsty? How comforted are you with a hug when you truly need it compared to times when you don’t? This is the periods of silence from the Lord.
