Time to burst some bubbles….. sorry if it hurts, but as beautiful as it sounds, there is no Scriptural reference that states the Eyes are the Window’s to the Soul.
Nope… nowhere. Let’s take a look in the New Testament, specifically the books of Matthew and Luke.
Yep, you read it correctly. Two Apostles wrote this teaching from our Lord and they’re nearly identical. Of course this was when they were listening and learning from Christ during the Sermon on the Mount.
I have included two video’s of the Sermon on the Mount below, but first, let’s look at the two bible entries side by side.
The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
But, if your eyes is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If, therefore, the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew Chapter 6 verses 22 and 23
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when you eye is good, your whole body also is full of the light. But when your eye is bad, your body is also full of darkness.
Therefore, take head that the light which is in you is not darkness.
Luke Chapter 11 verses 34 and 35
There are many blog and web entries which outline what these mean, referencing several bible entries. Essentially, Jesus wants us to set our eyes on the Kingdom of God and have Gods rule in our lives and others. We should follow and practice his teachings, radiating love. It’s best to read the bible for a global understanding, but a good place to start is the Gospel of Matthew. A global understanding is a good start of your spiritual growth.

Paul wrote about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Paul learned directly from the Holy Spirit, which is different from the Apostles who learned from Christ. This is an introductory video explaining what they are, when you receive them and what they are used for. If you have received gifts, how can you include these in the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount?
